Ristorante Buca Mario

Im from NZ & returned to Buca Mario tonight after 20yrs, because the first time was such a brilliant experience. There were people lining up to get in. Tonight the staff’s enthusiasm, and the quality of food was very average. It was less a dining experience and more like push them in/push them out food. Very disappointing. You could be so much more.

Checked in on time and was sat right away. A line gathers at opening but moves quickly! Nando, our server, a true gentlemen and a scholar! Top notch Florence meal!

Buca Mario was a lovely dining experience. The restaurant is very upscale and the wait staff are very professional. The lasagna changed my life. It was so creamy and every bite was magnificent. The Florentine steak was also stellar! Thank you!!

The service was excellent, but the florentine steak was extremely undercooked and tough to eat! We have had amazing steaks all over the city and had high expectations for Buca Mario, but the quality of the very expensive steak was not good.

The restaurant was charming and the staff friendly and welcoming! However the service felt rushed and the food mediocre. Both are meals, oso bucco and chicken cacciatore, were covered in a bland tasteless tomato sauce. Nothing special.

Food was good, service was outstanding,, and the prices were insanely expensive. While we had a very good experience, the restaurant is very touristy and the kind of place you go once to try it but not again.

Everything from start to finish was amazing! Wine, pasta and steak were incredible!

Staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and the food was mouthwatering fresh and decadent.

The food was okay not that wet haven’t had better in Italy - unfortunately from all the nice little chambers of the restaurant we ended up been seated at a table next the the loudest dinners. The experience was ruined!

considering the size of th else when we arrived, we were seated very quickly. Food was exceptional, as was the service.

We were moved from a table in the front of the restaurant to all the way in the back of the restaurant, which was really noisy and had a different ambience. There were whole peppercorns in my husband's dish. A waiter stopped us in the middle of us following our waiter to let another party pass us.

This place is ‘hyped’ and I must say I felt It was underwhelming. It is just a Florence steak house. The sirloin part of the florentein steak was a little bit chewy with pop when chewing. The filet side was tender but a little over cooked. The pastas did not knock me off my feet and the appetizers kept me hoping that maybe I was missing something. I had Better meals and better florentine steak from another place in town that was half price and much better service. My wife and I have eaten all over the world and this was just underwhelming and did not live up to the hype. So don’t feel bad if you don’t make it in. You didn’t miss much.

What an absolute gem this restaurant is. It is a dining essential when in Florence!

Service was excellent! Food was good. It did not get higher marks because it felt like a tourist trap. A dress code would vastly improve the experience. Sweaty T-shirts and athletic clothes made it feel like a chain restaurant in the USA

Visited with my husband as part of our honeymoon celebrations, and as a person with many years of experience in the hospitality and food service industry I can easily say that this meal had some of the most exceptional hospitality and attentive service that I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food and wine were delicious of course (I had a glass of the house red, so nothing extravagant, but still a delightful Chianti that went perfectly with my meal), and the dessert was exceptional, but truly the experience and atmosphere is what made this meal one to remember. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a high-quality food, high-quality service dinner. Thank you for making our celebration truly special!

Service was wonderful! Lasagna was excellent! Fried chicken was really good but not as I expected. I thought it would be cutlets but it was more like chicken bites. Wine was yummy. T-Bone steak for two was huge and looked delicious (we did not order it but saw them slicing it for other guests table side. Tiramisu was very good.

Food was average at best and overpriced. I asked for a straw and everyone acted put out. After that, every straw they brought out to was was broken. There were 10 in all. We gave up!

Was expecting A LOT more! Service felt very rushed, waiter spent more time doing his hair in the mirror than waiting on people. Feel like a instagram/tik tok hype job. Definitely better places to eat in Florence.

Delicious food and wine. Lovely setting too. Sad to see individuals coming to a wonderful dining experience dressed in shorts, t-shirts and sloppy clothing.

Wonderful experience and highly recommend. Hope to be back for a visit while vacationing.

Lasagna was incredible. Service excellent…friendly, warm and did not feel rushed even though this is a very busy restaurant.

A truly fantastic meal and great service. The highlights of our meal were Nonna’s lasagna and our waiter Nando. This was the best lasagna I have ever eaten and I’m not even a huge fan of lasagna. Service was great across the board and was led by our fantastic waiter Nando. Made us extremely comfortable and made the atmosphere feel festive. Highly recommended and if you can get Nando as a server you’re in for a treat!

The stake was like rubber And it was not fresh. It was like 1 hour later after cooking. Cold and my chin was out of order.
