The staff was so welcoming and attentive - we had the Osso Buco which was one of the best meals we have EVER had !!!!!

The experience at Buca Mario was exceptional from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The restaurant encompasses traditional Italian service, food and interiors. The wait staff were excellent and we were very well looked after. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Florence.

Service was excellent. Server friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered was delicious. Ones that ordered the Florentine steak were not disappointed and glad they did. Appreciated you helping the celebrate the birthday boy.

The food was good. Our waiter was excellent. I would have given Buca Mario a much higher rating if the aC was cooling. The heat made it miserable and very difficult to enjoy our food. We weren’t able to finish our wine or dinner.

We had booked ahead for dinner with my daughter. We were welcomed at the door by the hostess and taken to our table. Wonderful traditional basement, huge portions, extremely polite and entertaining waiter (Mr Alto)! An experience not to be missed in Florence!

Front of house made our waiter aware that we were celebrating a birthday. Our waiter wasn’t friendly, never asked us if we needed anything or if we enjoyed the meal. The steak was blue, not rare. A horrible and would not recommend! Za Za was excellent in comparison

Uncomfortably hot temperature in the restaurant. Food was good not great. Service was excellent.

Exceeded all expectations. In particular, the ossobucco was amazing and not available much outside of Tuscany. Service was attentive and friendly. Expect to spend roughly €100/person.

The florentine steak was not good quality. It was tough and sinewy. The pastas that we had were much too salty.

It has been 2 years since we last visited Florence and Buca Mario - worth the wait! Absolutely fantastic!

Our server wasn’t overly helpful or friendly. Not a lot of choices for gluten free or the server didn’t understand. Either way we left underwhelmed.

We dined here 10 yrs ago and had a wonderful visit, so we expected the same amazing dinner to end our time in Florence. I made our reservation 6 months prior, to make sure we could secure a table at 7pm for our party of 5. As we lined up to enter, we were told that we weren’t on the reservation list. Fortunately, I had both the original email confirmation from months ago, as well as the same-day confirmation, both clearly showing our 7pm reservation. The restaurant accused me of calling in that day to change the booking time to 9:30pm (clearly NOT the case). They were very rude and insisted that the problem was mine, and that they weren’t able to accommodate me. They used the “reliable” method of table reservations written on little scraps of paper, which as they found my reservation, showed that it was written for 7pm and then someone scratched it out and wrote 9:30pm. Then of cause they blamed me! They ended up finding a table for us about 10 minutes later, next to the bathroom. Lovely! The lasagna was as amazing as I remembered it to be. Seasoned perfectly, with a heavenly bechamel sauce. The fried vegetables were delicious, with the squeeze of lemon and coarse ground salt to enhance. The gnocchi was delicious as well, however the La Bisteca which is the specialty only looks incredible. It lacked all flavor which for the price and presentation, you are expecting an amazing dish. The ossobucco was also underwhelming, with a very acidic tomato sauce smothered over it. The complimentary bread was extremely stale, even when dipped in olive oil and pepper. We had to request balsamic vinegar and salt to make it edible. The server was nice, though. Would I go back? Yes, but only for the lasagna which is INCREDIBLE. Skip the rest.

Everything was just amazing, Aldo was a perfect host and made sure to keep us pampered, and smiling all the time! Buca Mario never failed to impress us! Only the noise was unbelievable, but not a big deal compared to how great every other thing was.

Combine unreal wine with unreal eats and you find yourself with an unreal time!!

Ambience OK but the food was like the Italian food I used to eat in London back in the seventies. I had lasagne, the edges of the pasta were chewy and the meat sauce tasted similar to my school meals. My wife had ricotta stuffed ravioli which, for some reason known only to God and the chef, was covered in a bland white sauce. Terrible. Don't know how they can charge such prices - they're obviously living solely on a reputation gained decades ago. The food they serve at the moment is seriously under par.
