The staff was welcoming and prompt, they even helped us call for a taxi when we were ready to go (no small feat in Rome in the summer). The food was absolutely delicious!

Table was crammed in the middle of where everyone walked by and the waiters constantly had to push past us, so it felt like we were in the way. Asked politely to move as there were several other open tables but were told no for reasons we never got. Waiters seemed stressed out and ran around and asked about the same things twice, and tried to clear our plates in the middle of the meal while we were still eating. We were there for 1,5 hours total and felt in the way the entire time.

The pasta carbonara was amazing, as well as the special cacio e pepe.

We originally made a reservation for 8:30 pm but they were able to accommodate us earlier at 7:30. This was our first meal in Rome and it was lovely. Tried the classic pastas and some of their specials, including a seafood pasta that was amazing.

Great food! Great atmosphere! Highly recommend that you book a reservation early here as they fill up quickly.

I don’t feel the seating process is very efficient as most (if not all) of the restaurant is seated at once. Seems to put a lot of pressure on the wait staff and kitchen as our food did come out relatively slowly. However, the food is outstanding.

Atmosphere was perfect. The owners and servers were kind and attentive. The food was authentic and delicious. 10/10!! We had a reservation for 7:30 when they opened. There are plenty of restaurants near by that are open well before 7:30 for us Americans who prefer to eat earlier. However, this restaurant was definitely worth the wait!

Two adults and two teens and we all enjoyed our food. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff made this one of the best spots we’ve eaten in Rome.

A must-go when in Rome. Aldo and Claudia (siblings) are wonderful host and chefs and this spot always has my favorite meal of the trip.

Ambiance is a cozy, local, authentic family restaurants. Nice wine list with various prices and wine varieties. Staff was mostly welcoming, yet quite hectic. Liver pate was excellent. Dishes were good, timing of appetizers, salads and mains overlapped, which is not ideal. Overall, a 7.5/10.

Very busy for lunch. Felt more like the pace of an American restaurant. The crostini appetizer liver pâté was delicious while the spinach crostini was a bit salty. The tuna appetizer was tasty. Cod main course was decent but lacking a bit of flavor. Felt a bit rushed by the servers. We have had nicer and more typically slower paced meals in Italy, so this place was not our favorite.

Exceptional combination of flavours - chicken thighs in rosemary and olive, courgette slices in mint with roast potatoes. Perfect with the house red. Superb meal.

The meal began well, nice table, classic menu and a good, reasonable wine list. Starters were lovely (tuna and Aubergine parmigiana). After that everything went downhill. Waiter brought 2nd course so quickly our starter plates were still on the table, just finished. The lamb chops were over cooked and tasteless and the cacio e pepe very bland.

La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali in Monti is a gem for those craving authentic Italian cuisine near the Colosseum. The friendly staff promptly seated us for a delightful Saturday lunch. We started with delicious eggplant and artichoke appetizers, followed by equally impressive veal and pasta dishes. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience that left us satisfied and eager to return. Grazie for the delightful lunch!

Es wäre alles perfekt gewesen, wenn man nicht ab einem gewissen Zeitpunkt das Gefühl gehabt hätte, sie möchten den Tisch nochmal verkaufen. Ab dann wurde leider etwas gedrängt! Ansonsten war der Service und das Essen eigentlich sehr sehr gut. Die besten Carbonara, die wir in unserem Leben je gegessen haben!

It was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Rome. The food was delicious, the wine was incredible, and the service was amazing. Our waitress was so knowledgeable and gave fantastic recommendations. I highly recommend stopping here for a meal!
