It's become a tourist trap, used to be good but food now is below average, and not even close to what good Roman and Italian food should be like. All served in a rush, appetiser, pasta (primo) and main course all arrived at once. I was brought up in Rome, and this was a first! Amatriciana spaghetti was just plain tomato sauce with some panceta no taste. Rabbit was dry and hard. The appetisers were OK. Avoid if you are looking for real Italian food and friendly service

Great service & food & wine at reasonable prices for Rome in the high season. Lovely ambiance as well without the overcrowding of other restaurants in the city. Highly recommended.

È sempre una certezza. Sono stata più volte e mi sono sempre trovata molto bene: ambiente accogliente, personale gentile e disponibile, piatti della tradizione di altissimo livello. Ci tornerò sicuramente e continuerò a portare gli amici che vengono da fuori Roma.

Sono stata qui con il mio ragazzo e mia cugina che è venuta dall’Australia. Ci siamo trovati bene, il cibo era buono, il personale cortese e il servizio è stato veloce.

Nul nul nul : serveuse incompétente, service très long obliger de demander tout ( eau , sel, poivre , vinaigre ) jamais la serveuse est venue pour nous demander si nous avions besoin de quoi que ce soit . Très déçu

I paid the bill of 195 euros by cash and received 5 euros as change, which I left as a tip......after a couple of hours the restaurant called me up and falsely acused me of not paying the bill....and then after talking to them on the phone they said that they had made a mistake. This is a very bad experience. This is not how a restaurant should treat its customers.

Het eten was heerlijk en veel en met liefde klaargemaakt! De service was prima, vriendelijke serveerster! Flavio is zeker een aanrader.

We were very disappointed with the experience eating at this restaurant. The pasta was too hard and way too salty! The meat was served raw even though we ordered medium. None of the food was enjoyable. I thought based on the reviews that this would be a great restaurant, but unfortunately I would advise others to avoid this place. On the bright side. We had a very nice server.

Bellisimo! Pesto fettucini, peppered chicken and ravioli were my favorite dinner dishes. Absolutely must have the tiramisu in a glass. Delizioso.

The carbonara was delicious! Also, loved the fresh tomatoes with olive oil and salt. My husband really liked the fettuccini with chicken gizzards he ordered.

Carbonara così così....poco cremosa ...piuttosto secca. Abbacchio e polpette di bollito molto buone.

I had been waiting 8 years to return to Flavio Al Velavevodetto for a meal, and I wasn't disappointed. Loved the panchetta, insalata pomodoro, special ravioli, fried zucchini flowers, and eggplant caponata. Hope to be back much sooner for my next meal.

Cosa mi è piaciuto: L’Osteria Velavevodetto è un locale storico che incarna l’essenza della cucina romana. Desidero dividere questa recensione in due parti: ciò che mi è piaciuto e ciò che potrebbe essere migliorato. Iniziamo dai primi piatti: abbondanti, cucinati molto bene, con una grande attenzione ai dettagli e sicuramente ingredienti di qualità superiore alla media. Consiglio vivamente di provare i piatti suggeriti dal titolare, il quale svolge il suo mestiere con estrema scrupolosità e si impegna affinché gli ospiti siano pienamente soddisfatti dell’esperienza. Ho apprezzato la possibilità di trascorrere l’intera serata al tavolo, senza fretta, immaginando di cenare con calma e di bere come se fossi sulla terrazza di casa in compagnia degli amici. Ho scelto un vino Cesanese, devo dire eccellente, ad un prezzo ragionevole. Cosa potrebbe migliorare: Sarebbe gradita una proposta di assaggio dei vini, come avviene nelle osterie in Toscana, per poter esplorare e apprezzare la varietà di etichette offerte. Inoltre, avere fin dall’arrivo il numero del tavolo già assegnato eviterebbe al titolare di dover controllare la lista delle prenotazioni. La presenza di un menù degustazione vini arricchirebbe ulteriormente l’esperienza, onorando le radici dell’osteria come hosteria. Alla Prossima !!!

Great food - the courgette flowers, carbonara and Roman style meatballs were superb. Service very speedy, but eating social and not rushed.

The pasta was a bit too raw. One the dessert cakes was hard (maybe a bit too old?)
