Food was magnificent and the waitress Emma was delightful. Have other plans but considering going back another night to try some of the other items on the menu

Our dining experience at this establishment was top notch from start to finish. Our waiters were awesome and helped us pick an amazingly delicious meal. It was our very first night in Florence and very memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Non siamo riusciti a mangiare il polpo che avevamo ordinato e l'anatra di mia moglie era parzialmente asciutta. Ci hanno addebitato il 10% di supplemento per il servizio, ma la cameriera (molto gentilmente) ci ha detto che l'addebito era a carico del ristorante, quindi ho dovuto darle una mancia in contanti.

The owners/servers/chefs are wonderful. They are always so welcoming and take such good care of us….. !! Definitely one of our favorite (if not THE favorite) restaurants in Florence. Today we had the Lombatina, a pasta with Ragu and the Peposa. Every dish was perfect!

Great ossobucco, truffle pasta, and even better service. Try it out!

Everything was perfect. Very friendly, local restaurant with normal serving sizes. Other places we have been in Italy seem to cater to the USA idea of extreme portion sizes which are simply too large. Buca Poldo has (what I would consider) perfect portions and the food is perfectly executed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food and wine recommedations were excellent and the food was lovely. We will return.

Wonderful food! The service was absolutely incredible! Silvia was our server, she was a beautiful person that made our experience very special!!! We had a proper Florentine steak at 900 grams with the roasted potatoes and the chicken pate appetizer, with a traditional Tuscan dessert; for those who are American it’d be a biscotti with a sweet wine. We had a Tuscan white wine with our meal. Everything was wonderful, and we felt loved and special by not only our treatment but the quality of the love in what we were fed.

Restaurant Buco Poldo is a clearly popular restaurant for good reason. The wait staff speaks adequate English and the outdoor area we sat in was very pleasant. The T-bone steak one of our party ordered medium rare was not “expertly cooked”. It was super rare near the bone and medium well at the outer edge area. The filet one of us had, was perfect. All other items including spinach, beans and roasted potatoes were good. There was a bit of confusion about which of us got which dish during, but was resolved easily. I would try this restaurant again.

Durante il nostro soggiorno a Firenze abbiamo avuto il piacere di cenare alla Buca Poldo, un'autentica gemma nascosta a pochi passi da Piazza della Signoria. L'atmosfera è incredibilmente romantica, complice la posizione suggestiva in un vicolo caratteristico che regala un'esperienza davvero unica. Abbiamo iniziato con un primo piatto semplicemente delizioso, che ha subito conquistato il palato, seguito da una bistecca alla fiorentina davvero superba: cotta alla perfezione, tenera e saporita, una delle migliori mai assaggiate. Il servizio è stato impeccabile: rapido, attento e molto professionale. Il personale si è dimostrato estremamente preparato anche nel consigliarci un ottimo vino da abbinare ai nostri piatti. Un plauso speciale va a Luciano, il proprietario, che ci ha accolti con grande calore e cortesia, facendoci sentire subito a casa. Infine, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è stato eccellente, soprattutto considerando la qualità elevatissima dei piatti e l'esperienza complessiva. In sintesi, Buca Poldo è una tappa imperdibile per chi cerca autentica cucina toscana, servizio eccellente e un'atmosfera indimenticabile. Consigliatissimo!

We were recommended this restaurant by a local chef when we were looking for the best steak Florentino. Man, it did not disappoint. Everything was amazing, the steak was better than anything I could have anticipated. The atmosphere was had a much better feel to it than any of the other touristy locations we had been to prior. The whole family loved it.

Great venue. The menu had lots of good options, we enjoyed the food. Overall, the service was great...the wait staff had great personalities which added to the enjoyment. 1 snafu. They brought the wrong appetizer. We weren't sure about it, until after we ate it. It wasn't something we'd like.

What a wonderful little gem right around the corner from our apartment! The service was top rated, the food was absolutely delicious...still thinking about the truffle sauce! They even ended our evening with a complimentary lemoncello, which is normally not my thing but it was very nice. Highly recommend.
