Unbelievable food. The carbonara is the best I’ve had in Rome. The wait staff is warm and welcoming with a good sense of humor. Highly recommend
Best meal in Rome. Go ,enjoy... don't miss out !
Just what we were looking for - lovely authentic Italian food!
Santa Cristina is a primary "go to" restaurant whenever I am in Roma. The family hosts are warm, inviting, and gracious. They never forget my name! Too, and perhaps more importantly to this review, the food is exquisite. They take great care to serve tasty food where the flavors just overwhelm you!
Amazing visit! Fabulous food and good service. Can recommend the carbonara
Quaint family ristorante in a quiet location. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was outstanding. Atmosphere was romantic and peaceful. We can’t say how pleased we were with our night out!
My mother and I left believing we may have had the overall best meal of our trip on our first night. In our view, this appeared a far more authentic Roman run, homemade meal, elevated by its simplicity and freshness. The zucchini & zucchini flower pasta such a surprise, it was perfect, the amalfi lemon cream pasta, described as medium spice but seemed mild to us, a lovely departure from the standard carbonara (also on the menu). The filet of beef with mustard sauce was another stunner we shared, think a of it as a far superior béarnaise, steak pounded thin and served medium rare. Very juicy, tender, a flavor bomb. The small pile of very fresh raw grated carrot and zucchini sat next to the steak, it too had a purpose to us- a palate cleanser we ate. The olive oil the waiter put on the table for us to use to dress the insalata mists was honestly extraordinary. You could absolutely taste the light flavor. We finished with a freshly made peach cheesecake and a two decaf espresso. Not a single “oh I could’ve skipped that” moment. A liter of house red. Paid 90 euro. We were jet lagged and stressed knowing we ordered too much, we ate all of it anyway. Leave the garish tourist traps behind and go here. You pay extra for bread if you want it (we did not), there is no tap water served, no you cannot order a cappuccino. Our waiter’s wife we learned was the chef. This place is the kind of place that justifies why you travel.
9th time over 10 years and couldnt be any better from wonderful family to best beef in Italy (or anywhere)
Excellent antipasto plate and lemon pasta. Great staff and service
A quiet hidden gem! A lovely family owned restaurant tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of Rome. The food, atmosphere, service are all wonderful! We sat inside. It was quaint and quiet. We had a lovely meal. Spoke to wonderful servers and met a wonderful hardworking family. It’s an absolute must go!
Amazing space, vibes, service, food, ambiance! Totally recommended. A must visit.
I always come for something that you make that is very special -- cacio e pepe. It was delicious.
The food was great! The service was quick too, highly recommended
Magnifique localisation repas en terrasse juste super bravo et merci
0ttima locazione ,accurata genuina cucina; un servizio attento e gentile
Excellent food! Small and welcoming restaurant. Very reasonably priced food.
This was our favorite meal in Rome. The food was amazing , the atmosphere the best and the location perfect. We loved everything we ordered. It was the best steak , the pizza appetizer was incredible. The tiramisu was the best we had in Italy.
We wanted to sit out side which they sorted however, it was 1 table for 2 adults and 1 child, we requested another table as there was just not enough room, The waitress sorted it out however, the waiter then said he needed the table later we said ok and could have the table back no problem, in the end they did not need the table. Now we ordered starters caprese mozzarella and tomatoes with basil, well basically we got 2 leaves of basil a tomato chopped up and a large ball of mozzarella in the middle. I could and have sour better myself, but I was so looking forward to this the Italian way. So I had not even finished my starter and they then brought the main course, lasagna, just a piece of lasagna on a plate, we ordered pasta with tomato sauce, the sauce was not very nice and pasta was not cooked enough It was as if they wanted to get us out of there as quick as possible. We wanted a family restaurant as I was so looking forward to a nice home cooked meal, but was disappointed with the service, food, prices for over €120 I would have expected more.
Une formidable adresse, au calme, proche de notre hôtel et avec une cuisine excellente ! Merci pour ce très bon moment et à bientôt... Nous reviendrons !!

This is a lovely cosy family restaurant with a great atmosphere and great food. The apple pie was especially good. We highly recommend the place.
Our favorite restaurant in Rome. We will go anytime we’re there.
Food was fantastic, atmosphere amazing, service was outstanding, vibe was nice and mellow after being in the thick of tourist attractions all day. Highly recommend this way off the beaten path restaurant.
What an amazing experience! The food was outstanding; the atmosphere welcoming and the servers…top notch. We were looking for a “local” restaurant near our hotel after a day of walking and found this place. We went by the reviews and they were not wrong. We had pasta, for the table, so we could try the different varieties they offered. The carbonara was magical, not to heavy truly just right. We also had the lemon pasta which is traditionally made in the Amalfi coast…wow!!! And of course the pepper pasta. All of it was truly amazing. We paired it with the house red wine which was also amazing, however they have an extensive wine list of you want something other than the house wine. We followed it up with the special which was grilled tuna and an artichoke. Oh so delightful. Finally…it was time for dessert. We had the affogato and the tiramisu. Both were delightful! Make a reservation because it fills with locals and Italians from all over the country. It is truly a gem in the heart of Rome! I can’t wait to come back!!
Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere and wonderful service. Family restaurant that made us feel welcome and treated to a special night!
Wonderful. The food is delicate and delicious. We will be back soon.
Brilliant service, fab location off the beaten track and AMAZING food and wine (house red is particularly good). Loved the fried pizza appetiser and the Delizia Santa Cristina pasta with crispy zucchini flowers. My partner said his carbonara was the best he’d ever eaten! Just be sure to book in advance!
Excellent, marvellous, we spent a wonderful moment, so delicious and divine.
The lemon pasta was everyone's favourite. Artichokes were very nice, too. Great service.
Delicious food and wine. The bistecca was my son’s favorite.
