A Classic roman institution. We have been coming for 40 years and it remains untouched: classic menu, classic venue, never disappointed. Gigetto al ghetto is a safe card in a particularly lovely setting during the warmer months. We will continue to come when in Rome.

Food was genuine and delicious, best Jewish food in Rome. Service was impeccable. Waiter Bishoy was so friendly and attentative.

Very good service. Good though, not exceptional food, but very pleasant standard Roman Jewish cuisine. The ambience is a little bright in terms of lighting, but it is a pleasant, basic dining experience.

We were left in a room in the back with virtually only English speakers--and abrupt, brusque attention. The fried artichoke was greasy and almost inedible. The amatriciana was very good, but the plate arrived with sauce dripped on the side and was virtually dropped upon our table with no attention at all. When we ordered table wine, an entire liter was dropped on our table--for two older women at lunch! We had to specifically ask for bread, for olive oil and for salt. We were not asked after the meal if we wanted coffee or dessert before asking if we wanted the bill. After we laughingly complained (we were having a good day and the extremely poor service was laughable), the waiter was friendly and engaging. I suspect he was severely overworked= and would have preferred to give us better and more attention. I will not return.

The Zuccini flowers were delicious!So was the pasta..cannelloni ripieni.The food and the place did not dissapoint.However I found the waiter telling us 3 TIMES that the tip had to be paid in cash only rather rude and unnecessary.I always tip and usually in cash , but I found being TOLD to tip and HOW to tip repeatedly (I heard him the first time ) annoying and not in keeping with the standard set by the rest of the evening.

Location , servizio, menu e prezzi buoni; è la cucina che è un po' carente a mio parere, al netto del fatto che avevo alte aspettative+ sono abituata a mangiare molto bene+ so cucinare dicono molto bene; mangiato: - carciofi alla g,, ( poco sapore e perdeva olio color nocciolina chiaro) - fiori di zucca ripieni e fritti( non super croccante ma cmq ok, non perdevano olio) - - insalata di puntarelle( puntarelle buone , vinaigrette con le acciughe , un poʻ strana, cmq ok, abche se non grandiosa) -saltimbocca: duretti e brodoso( di solito è la reazione della carne décongélation e anche se magari non era il caso, il risultato è stato analogo.

I wish I never had to write this review but the experience ruined the whole trip. I had booked a table for 2 on Saturday at 22, I know it is late but it was the only available slot in the app; so when we enter the restaurant and even before we had removed our coats, a waiter approaches and says "to have to order right away as the kitchen is closing"; this said, we did not have much time to go through the menu so we just ordered an antipasto and a main course, didn't even consider to order a good bottle of wine since we would not have the time to enjoy it. We were half through the antipasto, and they already served the main course, which had to sit there until we were done with the appetizer, so when we started eating it, it was already cold and not tasty at all. It was a miserable dinner and since I was inviting someone else, I felt terribly embarrassed for the situation. Staff was not very nice and the person at the reception desk didn't even say goodbye when we said it twice. This said, I understand that the time was late, I know how consuming this type of business is, BUT, if you do not want to serve people at that time, don't let them book the table, close the slots earlier or just say you cannot accommodate them, but don't let them in and give them this bad treat and food, if you cannot be up to a minimum standards at a certain hour of the day, close earlier or don't take the bookings. It is not honest at all to treat customers this badly and ruin their trip.

Giornata molto positiva e non solo grazie ai carciofi alla giuria fantastici ma anche a tutti i fritti( digeribilissimi) la location che trasuda di storia , la respiro e un cameriere Scerif di origine Egiziana ma che ha assorbito quello dopo tre ti romano , cordiale che ti fa sentire a casa e non ospite 😃⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tutto buono e servizio impeccabile peccato che il mio piatto coda alla vacinara aveva un pezzo quasi ghiacciato mentre gli altri pezzi erano caldi a sufficienza.....ho comunicato al cameriere la cosa ed era pronto a cambiarmi il piatto ma ormai avevo finito.

Delicious lunch. The front room with views of the neighborhood is best.

We had great time during lunch. We loved the food, the ambiance and the service. Visiting the toilet of the restaurant also is part of the experience. If possible do not go there, or do after finishing eating. This is also one of your restaurant faces, so I cannot understand how it can be showed to the guests in it's state.

We visited Gigetto Al Portico d’Ottavia last year on our vacation. This year, we went to a different restaurant in The Jewish Ghetto and were disappointed so I made sure I reserved Al Portico for our last night in Italy and it even surpassed the excellent food and service of last year! We will visit them every time we visit Rome!

abbiamo apprezzato tutti i piatti ordinati fettuccine ai carciofi, pajata, carciofi alla giudia, parmigiana, fiori di zucca e filetto di baccalà, crostata di ricotta e visciole, unica nota negativa il fritto misto di verdure non sufficientemente croccante; location semplice, prezzi leggermente alti, servizio adeguato alla tipologia del locale. Buono il vino bianco della casa.

la maggior parte delle cose che abbiamo scelto dal menu non c’erano: terminato tutto il pesce, niente puntarelle, macchina del caffè già spenta… era meglio chiudessero prima. Mai vista una tale mancanza di professionalità… una vera delusione…

Buon ristorante di cucina giudaico romana. Buoni i carciofi alla giudia e i fiori di zucca ripieni e fritti. Discreto rapporto qualità-prezzo, ma si paga l posizione centrale lungo il Tevere

Ambiance of a traditional Restaurent’s, a great waiter who showed us how to prepare artichokes, excellant Sant Angelo red and of course fried artichokes! The rest of the meal was good but one plate had cooled before serving.

Everyone loved the meal they ordered! Funny family friendly atmosphere. Only down side was getting a taxi to go back to our hotel. It took about 45 minutes.

October fest going on next door was a bit loud during the first part of our meal. The food was great, but our waiter was not the most friendly.
